Answers to Your Top Questions

1. "I want a design on a 100% cotton shirt. Can you do that with sublimation?"

Unfortunately, no. The ink simply cannot form a permanent bond with 100% cotton fibers. If you try, the design will be faint, feel rough, and disappear after a wash. For 100% cotton, other methods like vinyl or direct-to-garment (DTG) printing are much better options.

2. "Can I sublimate on dark-colored fabrics?"

This is the biggest limitation. Since sublimation dyes the fabric fibers, it works best on white or light-colored fabrics. The dye can't make a dark fabric lighter. If you sublimate on a black polyester shirt, your design will be a dark, shadowy version of itself. For dark fabrics, other printing methods are recommended.

3. "What kind of designs work best?"

Sublination is your go-to for complex, full-color designs! It's perfect for:

· Photographs

· Vibrant patterns and gradients

· Detailed illustrations

· "All-Over-Print" designs that cover the entire garment

4. "How long will my sublimated item last?"

With proper care, a very long time! Because the design is infused into the fabric, it's extremely durable. To make it last, we recommend washing in cold water, turning the garment inside out, and avoiding bleach.
